Unfortunately the Germans ravaged the factory, they took all the copper objects, materials and leather used for transmissions. For the duration of the war, they made a munitions depot on the premises and parquèrent hundreds of English prisoners in the facility.
Only l92I the cardboard knew his first start.
May 2, 1921, Mr. Quenon then created a partnership under the name ICE AND CHARLEMAGNE QUENON before the notary of Frameries Ed Lucas.

This had a cardboard machine continues to manufacture the boxes, which was installed by the factories Chantraine Nivelles. The water required to manufacture Lacroix was pulled from the hole. The raw materials arrive by boat or train. Three teams of workers employed in the manufacture of straw board, card and board raw paper with glue on one or both sides in different formats that went to every corner of Belgium and France for making box, 20 tons of cardboard were coming out daily. The tools included
tanks preparations dough to mix it with lime, grinding wheels, instruments refining batteries, mixing vats, machine making paper with felts and sieves, dryers are crop, and then put the card in size and weighed the boxes in packages of 25 kg.
In 1926, Gerard Quenon bought the Saint-Georges Feluy order to take the waters to supply the cardboard. The level of the road at the bottom of the quarry, there are 38 meters deep. An artesian well was drilled. Reaching 78 meters deep, it touched the water table. A column of water spurted out of 4.5 meters.
Quenon gentlemen did nothing but supervise the operation of the plant, Cartiaux Felicien (born in the Flawinne 24-10-1883) who was head of court in 1914, became head of production in l92l and was in fact the chief principal officer plant. It stopped operations in 1956 and was replaced by Mr. Crinckx was colorist.
The plant took the extension, we add a paper mill. It is also the name of
CARTONNERIE AND STATIONERY FELUY-ARQUENNES.
The new workshop was built in 1930/1932, it contained a machine continues to manufacture all grades of paper from white to black, for packaging, for printing and writing from 42 up to 250 sqm. The latter began to turn from 1932. Pulp wood from Scandinavian countries. The raw material came to the formulation in different machinery (such as fiber, wheels batteries) for a first refining. From there it passed through a mixer then into a mixer and then into the conical refiners, this operation it was heading towards three cleaners to arrive in the manufacture of paper.
This was done with a machine where the paste was deposited on the canvas. There was then rolls égouteurs depapier for fine quality. The paper continues in the drying, finishing and winding. Paper processing ended phases manufacturing in a different room where rolls and sheets of all sizes were then packaged. The paper did not normally stocked, he went directly from the factory, often to France.
plant stopped during World War II-194L 15-12 May 1945. By 1955, substantial transformation took place on the machine continues, we installed a pulp collector that challenged directly the excess dough back in the tub. Three to four tons of paper per day made by two teams, they moved 15 tonnes of paper per day with 3 shifts of workers.
All these machines were powered by 4 steam boilers stamped 10 kg which was added a steam stamped at 30 kg, about 1932. The machines were operated transmissions. The plant
knew only sporadic social movements. It did strike in August 1950 when the royal affair in 1956, eight days of strikes, protests took place because the boss wanted to keep a foreman colorist against the advice of workers who were in conflict with it.
mismanagement of the plant and increasing income were the reasons for closing the factory despite a well-stocked order book.
factory closed its doors in February 1958 sending 250 workers unemployed. The machines were sold to the factory Intermills in Malmedy. The trustees introduced a request to use the Saint-Georges to dump the slag.
They rented the factory to a dealer feluysien.
