Built on the site of an ancient fortified house in the borough of Clamecy Township Corbigny at finage of Cervon in the Morvan, Nièvre in the heart of Burgundy. This castle in the valley is accessible by secondary road 170 and RD Road Doussa Cervon.
History.
This very old house stronghold Pontot burned during the Hundred Years War. Its location on the owner of a lord Pontot rebuilt in the fifteenth century, a castle. This manor was in fairness, moving into full-fee County Chateau-Chinon and the barony of Lormes-Chalon. Charles du Pontot, bought the right to justice in 1545, the Duke of Nevers: Francis I of Cleves.
Description
There are still some few elements of the ancient fortified house in what makes up the long main building, a floor and roof, insulated with a round tower with corbels. Two hexagonal towers emerge the north wall, one dates from the fifteenth century, in which houses a spiral staircase. The other is the part that was extended in the nineteenth century and comes in symmetry of the first. At the east end was built without a building character that comes at right angles. An imposing square tower is located to the east, and was remodeled and roofed broken, while to the west lies the great round tower, which was joined by adding a body building at nineteenth century. The windows were pierced in the seventeenth century. The courtyard is lined with commonalities that date from the seventeenth century.

Pontot of William and Peronnet, squires, took a fief in 1459. Jean du Pontot, knight, lord of Cervon, partly Mhère of Vauclaix ... did the same in 1509. Leonard's Pontot, bailiff of the Nivernais was the possessor of Pontot in 1528. Charles du Pontot, gentleman of the king's chamber, acquired the Duke of Nevers, Francois de Cleves, senior Justice Cervon in part, Viry, tides, and the Pontot Remilly in 1545.
Francis Solomon of Pontot, was elected president in 1607, and Bartholomew's Pontot, Tax Attorney Cervone. Solomon John had died, his widow, Jeanne-Françoise Moreau was dispossessed of this land in 1666 by a decree rendered at the request of Nicolas Mesgrigny, Earl of Villebertin, Charles de la Riviere and Antoine Damascus, as Rights and Edmee Georgette Françoise Reignier, heirs of Jacques, Count Aunay [2]. Jeanne-Françoise Moireau, was buried in the parish church, in the presence of Jean and Francis, his son and Michael Solomon, a canon of the college, his brother.
In 1717, Mary Panon, Stampli widow, was lady of Pontot. She had, despite his RPR, a chapel in the church Cervon. Stampli Paul, his son, left an heiress, who brought the manor to Peter de Paris, from a Huguenot family. Margaret Paris, implored August 4, 1743, in the parish church. Jean-Etienne, sold the Pontot, for life, December 26, 1799, Nicolas-François Gueneau, lawyer, whose descendantsle still possessed in 1865. The Abbot Baudiau could see the castle in the 1860s, a large collection of medals of the emperors: Claudius Gallien, Posthumous, Victorin, Salonin ... pieces collected in the vicinity of the castle over time. It was near there that were discovered 15 skeletons of men about 25 years who think that a fight had to take place in the sixteenth century, in this place between Huguenots and Catholics.
