The Castle Bannegon is a castle located in the town of Bannegon in the department of Cher in France .
Description.
Located on the border of Berry and Bourbonnais, Bannegon Castle is a historical monument since 1936. The castle has an imposing tower with drawbridge and a walled trapezoidal bordering the river Arnon. The big tower from the thirteenth or early fourteenth and said bars has a stack of 9.5 m in height.
History.
Dating from the twelfth century, the castle was partially destroyed in the sixteenth century is then supplemented by a body of early Renaissance style building.

The current owners inherited the castle in 1988 and create an association (Bannegon MDGs) whose mission is to restore the castle. In 1996, they created the "Medieval Bannegon" which takes place annually the weekend closest to August 15 and whose entire profit is paid to the association for the preservation of the castle.
