The Ainay Chateau-le-Vieil is a castle, located on the town of that name, department of Cher in France.
History.
Located in the village, the castle Ainay-le-Vieil was built in the fourteenth century. A century later, after having been the fief of Jacques Heart, he has always belonged to the same family and is transmitted by women. This castle is now part of the tourist route Jacques Heart.
The castle is the subject of several successive protections as historical monuments. It is first placed on the list of historic monuments in 1862 before being withdrawn in 1888. Facades and roofs of the castle complex (ie the enclosure with towers, the gate entrance and building of housing), and staves off; the oratory and the large lounge on the first floor of the house for the interior are subject to a classification as historical monuments since February 1, 1968. Description.
It has two parts, one medieval, one Renaissance. The feudal period offered this castle ramparts, many defense systems (loopholes, opportunities ,...), his dungeon who disappeared during the Renaissance, to be replaced by the main building. In the "grand salon", a fireplace decorated in honor of Louis XII and his wife Anne of Britain, the old master paintings Colbert representing the family ancestors.
