The Allagnat Castle lies on the Common Ceyssat in the Puy de Dome .
Castle built around a courtyard, on the ruins of an ancient castle belonging to the lords of Murat (their coat of arms is at the entrance), and he remains essentially an old circular tower, probably of the thirteenth or fourteenth century. A text of 1680 mentions a drawbridge disappeared. Adjoining buildings in this medieval tower, west of the courtyard, which now house the house, dating mainly from the seventeenth century. A spiral staircase turret serves the southern part of the buildings. The main building is located to the north, so he was burned in 1945 after being occupied. The remains of this home are now dependencies (former kitchen, oven, pantry, attic ...).
The owners are in the seventeenth century of Chabannes, lords of Nébouzat, then Roussel, lords of the Building. In the eighteenth century, the property belongs to Jouvenceau (pottery Clermont-Ferrand), passing in 1797 of the Culhat Chamond. She stayed there until 1911. This family is adding a body prior to the southern part of the castle, in the early nineteenth century. The Pleasure Garden, east of the property is rebuilt in the early nineteenth century. In the twentieth century, it is Rochette Lempdes, following Madame des Mazis, who have Allagnat.
The castle has retained a direct communication with a private forum of the nearby church.
The pleasure garden, including a planting of beech, a vegetable garden, boxwood, a fountain with fluted basin was replanted during the nineteenth century.
